Consultation Workshop on Food Safety Legal Framework in Agri-food and Fisheries Sectors

Co-funded by the European Union, the CAPFish Capture – Postharvest Fisheries Development project jointly implemented by Fisheries Administration and UNIDO organized a workshop on enhancing effective participation in Codex activities on July 27, 2022. The workshop aims to provide a good understanding for the members of Cambodia National Codex Committee officials from the relevant ministries, researchers from key universities on Structure and function of Codex Alimentarius Commission Process of standard development in Codex, and Codex Electronic Working Groups and Online Commenting system to actively participate in Codex Works.

FiA and DG-SANTE Discuss NRMP Progress and Way Forward

September 5, 2022: The Delegation of European Union to Cambodia, Fisheries Administration (FiA), and UNIDO organized an official meeting with a representative of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) together with relevant key actors to share a strategic plan, particularly the implementation of National Residue Monitoring Programme (NRMP) to prepare Cambodia to be an eligible country to export fishery products to the EU market. Representative of DG SANTE presented the process, modalities, and remaining challenges to comply with EU requirements in the perspective of an audit but more importantly provided very promising feedback towards mutual recognition attained from the European Union. FiA and UNIDO made a presentation on the progress of CAPFish-CAPTURE: Post-harvest Fisheries Development Project.
