To export fish and fishery products to the EU, Cambodia must pass audits by the EU Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG-SANTE), ensuring compliance with EU regulations on food safety, animal health, and more. Awarding CQS Certificates for the Successful Enterprises Round 2

This certification recognizes their commitment to safety, quality, social responsibility, #GenderEquality, and customer satisfaction. Kim Hy Fish Sauce Aliment Enterprise Cambodia Fresh Farm In total, there have been 17 CQS-certified enterprises to date. Training on Technical Requirements for the Export of Fish and Fisheries Products
News 13/06/2024Empowering the fisheries sector! The CAPFISH-Capture: Post-harvest Fisheries Development project organized a 3-day training workshop on technical requirements for the export of fish and fisheries products. After the workshop, the Fisheries Competent Authority (FCA) and cantonment officials, including 17 women from 17 provinces, have gained the skills and knowledge to effectively implement food safety control systems and guide fish processing enterprises and their associated actors. This is a huge step forward in ensuring compliance with local and export requirements and promoting the growth of our fisheries sector! Refresher CQS Training for Auditors
News 02/01/2024The CAPFISH-Capture: Post-harvest Fisheries Development project recently organized a refresher training for Cambodia Quality Seal (CQS) auditors. This training aimed to ensure that the auditors remain competent and up-to-date in conducting effective CQS audits. It was followed by shadow audits, providing hands-on experience to 13 newly selected auditors and allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills acquired. The CQS certification scheme was developed under the CAPFISH-Capture project as a national voluntary food safety certification scheme to promote a safer production of fish and fishery products toward building consumer confidence, market access, and exports while also protecting public health. Training on HACCP Application for Fishery Processing Enterprises
News 19/12/2023Recently, the CAPFISH-Capture project organized a training programme on the HACCP Application for Fishery Processing Enterprises to strengthen the technical capacity of competent authorities to implement food safety control programs effectively and provide assistance and guidance to fish establishments in implementing food safety requirements. With the increasing demand for safe and quality fishery products, both competent authorities and fish establishments must prioritize food safety. Our program covered topics such as HACCP principles, risk analysis, and also on gender and child labor to ensure compliance with international standards. We're proud to have had a diverse group of participants from various stakeholders, and we're confident that the knowledge and skills gained during the program will be put to good use. Le Havre Border Control Post Visit
News 15/10/2023A Cambodian delegation, led by H.E. Has Sareth, MAFF Secretary of State, recently visited Le Havre Border Control Post (BCP) and the During their visit to Le Havre Port and the HAROPA Port to gain insights into how the Competent Authority (CA) conducted Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) and food safety inspections at the EU border. Representatives from relevant line departments and enterprises were part of the delegation. Cambodian Delegation Participate in the World Seafood Congress
News 29/09/2023The Cambodian delegation led by H.E. HAS Sareth, MAFF Secretary of State, participated in the World Seafood Congress in Peniche, Portugal to learn about the recent developments and the best practices in implementing food safety control systems in the fisheries sector. The congress is where experts and all relevant parties can discuss how to maximize the production and distribution of fishery and aquaculture products while considering the interests of fishery business operators, supply-chain actors, and, most importantly, consumers. The official mission showcases MAFF's commitment and Fisheries Administration (FiA) towards achieving EU food safety compliance for the possible listing of Cambodia as an eligible country to export fish and fishery products to the EU.
