Health Certification

Prior to export, all fishery products intended for human consumption shall possess a health certificate provided by the DFPTQ. The health certificate confirms that the products are produced in compliance with legal requirements to food safety and are fit for human consumption.

The EU and China each have their own specific health certificates, which are mandatory for its use. In contrast, for other markets such as the ASEAN, USA, Korea and Japan, a general health certificate is acceptable.

Business operators shall apply for health certificate to DFPTQ.

A specified application form accompanied by supporting documentation is required for EU markets. Additionally, DFPTQ inspectors have the authority to inspect the consignment in the factory before issuing health certificate. For other markets, a health certificate may be issued upon verification of required documentation for food safety.
