Duties
- Control quality and safety of fish and fishery products including quarantine where needed
- Analyze, evaluate, and certify the quality and safety of fish and fishery products
- Solve all problems related to hygiene, quality, and safety of fish and fishery products in the production, processing and businesses
- Prepare technical standards related to quality, and safety and preserving the quality of fish and fishery products and also the health of aquaculture products.
- Research and establish standards for the quality and safety of fish and fishery products
- Research on the relationship and production chain of fish and fishery products
- Research the role of fish and fishery products in food security and nutrition
- Research on socio-economics and marketing in production, processing, and business
- Research on packaging and preservation techniques and shelf life of fish and fishery products.
- Establish and maintain a technical and scientific database and disseminate information on fisheries processing technologies, market information, food security, and nutrition.
- Training on fishery processing technologies, market information, food security, and nutrition
- Perform other duties assigned by the management.
The Department of Fisheries Post-harvest Technologies and Quality Control is led by a Director of Department and accompanied by several Deputy Dirctor of Departments as assistants as needed.
